During its quarterly report released on Wednesday, the Walt Disney Company has announced that Hulu will finally be making the move to become an international brand.
Until recently, Hulu was restricted to the U.S. – other than a brief foray into Japan in 2011 – but the purchase of the remaining shares from Comcast will now allow the company to use the brand more freely. There has been another companion service in the foreign markets called Star for some time, and the Hulu brand will now be replacing that.
As with all streaming services, content will vary by region, but at least the company will now have a consistent presence across the globe.
