A Gremlins 3 release date has been set for Nov. 19, 2027, with Chris Columbus set to direct and produce the new film.

During an earnings announcement from Warner Bros. Discovery, the long-awaited Gremlins 3 was announced. Steven Spielberg will return as an executive producer, and Chris Columbus is set to direct and produce the new film, while Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein are co-writing. Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario are producing for Amblin Entertainment, along with Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe from 26th Street Pictures.
No details have been announced yet for the cast or plot of the film.
“Few titles are as beloved and iconic as Gremlins, and we’re beyond excited to bring it back for both lifelong fans and a whole new generation,” Jesse Ehrman, Warner Bros. Pictures’ president of development and production, said in a statement. “It’s a privilege to be working alongside Steven [Spielberg], Chris [Columbus], and the entire creative team, and we look forward to audiences experiencing the next installment of the magic, mayhem, and heart of Gremlins on the big screen in 2027.”
The original film was released in 1984 and spawned a 1990 sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch. The first film did $212M globally, but the second film only grossed $41M. Initially considered a disappointment, it has since earned a cult status among fans.
Gremlins 3 is set to hit theaters on November 19, 2027.
