Warner Bros. Discovery has made some movement on its Big Bang Theory spinoff series that is in the works at its Max service.

According to Deadline, three actors from The Big Bang Theory have signed ‘talent-holding deals’ with the studio for the project. The actors include Kevin Sussman (Stuart), Lauren Lapkus (Denise), and Brian Posehn (Bert).

The project is still in its very early stages, but the talent-holding deals have finally given us some insight into the possible storyline. Stuart owned the comic book store in the series, with Denise eventually being his assistant and girlfriend. Bert worked in the geology department at the school, so it’s unclear how he would factor into the series.

If the series is set in or around the comic store, the main characters’ lack of involvement in the original series may be apparent, so we’ll have to see how the series addresses that.

This would mark the third spinoff from The Big Bang Theory. Young Sheldon ended after seven seasons, but it created its own spinoff in the form of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which will debut this fall season.

The Big Bang Theory debuted in 2007 and was the number-one comedy in the world when it concluded its successful 12-season run in 2019 as the longest-running multi-camera series in television history, with 279 episodes. The series won 10 Emmy Awards and received 55 Emmy nominations. The Big Bang Theory also won a Critics Choice TV Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and The Humanitas Prize.

No word as of yet on when we will hear more about the new spinoff.
