August is upon us, and that means it’s time for Apple TV Plus to get a new selection of streaming material for users to enjoy.

August 1
Chief of War (TV-MA Drama Series)
The historical drama Chief of War stars and is written and executive produced by Jason Momoa (“See”). Set amid the scenic backdrop of the islands of Hawai‘i, the nine-episode series, based on true events, follows warrior Ka‘iana, portrayed by Momoa, as he tries to unify the islands before Western colonization in the late 18th century.
Chief of War will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Friday, August 1, 2025, followed by new episodes every Friday through September 19.
Told from an indigenous perspective, Chief of War is a passion project for creators Momoa and Thomas Pa‘a Sibbett, who share native Hawaiian heritage. The series features a predominantly Polynesian cast led by Momoa alongside Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, Te Ao o Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, newcomer Kaina Makua, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale‘o, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainei Kinimaka, Te Kohe Tuhaka and Benjamin Hoetjes.
Chief of War is produced for Apple TV+ by FIFTH SEASON and Chernin Entertainment. Momoa directs the season finale and serves as executive producer. Doug Jung serves as showrunner and executive produces along with Sibbett, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Tracey Cook, and Brian Andrew Mendoza.
Justin Chon directs the first two episodes and serves as executive producer. Anders Engström, Jim Rowe, Molly Allen, Francis Lawrence and Tim Van Patten also serve as executive producers.
Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer wrote the theme music and co-produced the score for all nine episodes with composer James Everingham during his tenure with Bleeding Fingers Music, the multi-Emmy Award-winning and BAFTA Award-nominated composer collective co-founded by Zimmer in 2013.
Stillwater Season 4 (TV-Y7 Animated Kids & Family Series)
The fourth season of the beloved, award-winning animated kids and family series Stillwater is set to premiere with five episodes on Friday, August 1, 2025. Based on the bestselling Scholastic “Zen” book series by Jon J Muth, Stillwater follows a wise panda who teaches three young siblings about the world and each other.
The series centers on siblings Karl (Judah Mackey), Addy (Eva Ariel Binder), and Michael (Tucker Chandler), who encounter everyday challenges — big and small — which sometimes feel insurmountable.
Fortunately for these three, they have Stillwater (James Sie), a wise panda, as their next-door neighbor. Through his example, stories and gentle humor, Stillwater teaches the children the concept of mindfulness while offering them a deeper understanding of their feelings as well as tools that help them face their own day-to-day challenges.

Stillwater was produced through Apple TV+’s changemakers initiative in collaboration with awareness and intention expert Mallika Chopra, author of “Buddha and the Rose” and the “Just Be” series for kids, and CEO of Chopra Global.
Gaumont and Scholastic Entertainment produce, with Sidonie Dumas, Nicolas Atlan, Terry Kalagian, Iole Lucchese, Caitlin Friedman, Jef Kaminsky, Jun Falkenstein, and Rob Hoegee serving as executive producers. All three seasons of Stillwater are available to stream now on Apple TV+.
August 6
Platonic Season 2 (TV-MA Comedy Series)
Platonic is the critically acclaimed half-hour comedy starring and executive produced by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. The 10-episode second season will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, with the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly until October 1, 2025.
Co-created, directed and co-written by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, Platonic season two picks up with everyone’s favorite pair of best friends (played by Rogen and Byrne) as they contend with new mid-life hurdles, including work, weddings and partners in crises. The duo tries their best to be each other’s rock, but sometimes rocks break things.
The season two cast also includes Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, and introduces Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, and Milo Manheim as guest stars. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television, where Stoller’s Global Solutions has an overall deal. Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco, and Conor Welch executive produce, along with Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures.
Rogen also stars in Apple TV+’s celebrated, hit comedy The Studio, which recently landed 23 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, making it the most-nominated freshman comedy series in history. Rogen wrote, directed, and executive produced “The Studio” alongside Goldberg, and Byrne also stars in Apple TV+’s dark comedy Physical.
August 15
Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical (TV-G Musical Special)
Featuring original music by Emmy Award-nominated composer Jeff Morrow and Emmy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, composer, and New York Times bestselling author Ben Folds, the new 40-minute special under the acclaimed “Snoopy Presents” banner by Peanuts and WildBrain for Apple TV+ marks the first Peanuts musical in 35 years.
This summer, celebrate the joy and magic of summer camp and the importance of preserving what you love. Charlie Brown loves camp and is determined to make his final year special, but Sally, a first-time camper, is nervous and skeptical of the new and unfamiliar place. While everyone settles into camp, Snoopy and Woodstock discover a treasure map that takes them on a wild adventure nearby.
One morning, the Peanuts gang learns that their beloved camp is shutting down because fewer campers are joining each summer. The news especially saddens Charlie Brown, who feels hopeless about losing a place that has meant so much to him and his friends.
Meanwhile, on their adventure, Snoopy and Woodstock find the sought-after treasure chest, but are quickly disappointed when they discover it’s not riches, but instruments and photos from past summer concerts held at the camp. Newly inspired, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang use the treasure to host their own concert to save the camp.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the Peanuts gang, and Apple TV+ is the place for families to celebrate the milestone all year long. Apple TV+ is the official and only streaming home for all things Peanuts through an expanded partnership with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions.

Invasion Season 3 (TV-MA Sci-Fi Drama Series)
Invasion is the sweeping sci-fi drama series from Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg (“X-Men” films, “Deadpool” films, “The Martian”) and David Weil (“Hunters”). The 10-episode third season will make its global return on Friday, August 22, on Apple TV+ with one episode, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday through October 24, 2025.
Invasion follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. In season three, those perspectives collide for the first time, as the series’ main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership.
The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across the planet. It will take all heroes working together, using their experience and expertise, to save the species. New relationships are formed, old relationships are challenged and even shattered, as an international cast of characters must become a team before it’s too late.
The third season of Invasion stars returning cast members Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Shane Zaza, and Enver Gjokaj, and introduces new series regular Erika Alexander.
Invasion is created by Kinberg and Weil, who also serve as executive producers alongside Audrey Chon, David Witz, Alik Sakharov, Dan Dietz, Katie O’Connell Marsh and Nick Nantell.
Following its global debut, Invasion has been hailed for “upping the ante” with each season as well as expert cinematography that “captures the beauty and eeriness” of an alien invasion. The first and second seasons of Invasion are now streaming globally on Apple TV+.
