The third Alien: Romulus trailer shows we’re heading back to basics as the franchise moves back to the confined space horror genre.

Ever since the original Alien, the xenomorph and its whole mythology have been bringing horror to the masses. While the series has gone in some new directions in films such as Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, Alien: Romulus appears to be heading back to basics. We’re once again in a starship without knowing where the big creature could be. And it looks as though there are more than a few Face Huggers looking for someone to give a hug.
Fair warning as to not safe for work language.
It’s good to see the claustrophobia and fear returning to the franchise. And a return to that 1970s vision of future technology is always fun to look at.
While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
Alien: Romulus will hit theaters on Aug. 16.
