Venom: The Last Dance wins the weekend at the box office

Sony Pictures has closed out its Venom trilogy, but one has to wonder if it’s truly the last we’ve seen of the character.

First place went to Venom: The Last Dance with $51M, coming in well below estimates of $60M. It took in $124M in the foreign markets for a global total of $175M.

Smile 2 dropped into second place with $9.4M for a new domestic total of $40.71M. It has taken in a further $43M in the foreign markets for a global total of $83.71M.

Third place went to Conclave with $6.5M.

The Wild Robot, landed in fourth place with $6.5M, for a new domestic total of $111.36M. It has taken in $120.95M in the foreign markets, for a global total of $232.32M.

Rounding out the top five was We Live in Time with $4.84M for a new domestic total of $11.76M, and $12.04M globally.

The wide releases this week are Absolution, Here, Hitpig, and My Dead Friend Zoe.
