YouTube is no longer just about computers and smartphones when it comes to where people watch it. Big TVs are playing a major role now.

YouTube shared a revelation on its blog this week that viewing on TVs has grown to more than 1 billion of hours content per day.
The biggest categories were sports and kid content, with sports growing by more than 30% year-over-year.
As someone who uses YouTube on the TV daily – and is using at this moment – the company is going to have to make some improvements to how it works. Navigating playlists in particular is not a great experience, and neither is the search function. Up until now YouTube on TV has been treated as an afterthought, but with these numbers, that’s no longer going to be acceptable by a lot of people.
This also extends to creators. They’re going to have to start thinking about a lot more screen sizes when they make their next content.
