It has been announced that Neighbours will be ending in December, two years after its revival by Amazon. “We are sad to announce that Neighbours will be resting from December 2025,” the official Neighbours social media accounts shared on Thursday. “New episodes from the 40th anniversary season will continue to air on Prime Video and Ten four times a week until the end of the year, with all the big soapie twists and turns that our viewers love.”

“Audiences all around the world have loved and embraced Neighbours for four decades,” executive producer Jason Herbison said in a statement. “We believe there are more stories of the residents of Ramsay Street to tell in the future.”

He went on to say, “As this chapter closes, we appreciate and thank Amazon MGM Studios for all that they have done for Neighbours – bringing this iconic and much-loved series to new audiences globally.”

Neighbours originally ran in Australia from 1985 to 2022. Following a licensing change in the U.K. – which covered the majority of the series’ budget – the long-running soap was canceled. Eight months later, Amazon announced it would revive the series for its free ad-supported TV (FAST) channel, Freevee.

New episodes will continue to be released through the end of 2025.
