The Legend of Zelda film cast has been announced by Nintendo, with both the roles of Zelda and Link being announced.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto took to social media on Tuesday to announce the two leads for the highly anticipated Legend of Zelda film. Bo Bragason will be playing Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will be playing Link. Miyamoto also shared images of the actors in costume as the characters.

Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the film and will co-finance it with Nintendo. Wes Ball will direct from a script that T.S. Nowlin turned in the most recent draft.
The Legend of Zelda game franchise launched in 1986 and has gone on to release numerous follow-ups and spinoffs, becoming one of the biggest game franchises in history. How it will do as a film remains to be seen, but game adaptations have been enjoying more success as of late as evidenced by films such as Minecraft.
The Legend of Zelda is due to his theaters on May 7, 2027.
