Pig is a simple dice game built around risk and decision-making. Players roll a die repeatedly to build points but must decide when to stop before losing everything for that turn. It is easy to learn, fast to play, and works well for families, classrooms, and casual game nights. Here is how to play.
Materials You Need
- One six-sided die
- Two or more players
- Paper and pencil for keeping score
Basic Setup
Players agree on a target score before starting, commonly 100 points.
Choose one player to go first. Play proceeds clockwise.
How the Game Works
Rolling the Die
On your turn, roll the die as many times as you want.
Each roll adds its value to a running turn total, with one exception.
Rolling a One
If you roll a one, your turn ends immediately.
You score zero points for that turn, and play passes to the next player.
Holding
At any point during your turn, you may choose to hold.
When you hold, add your turn total to your overall score and end your turn.
