Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle set multiple records at the box office in its debut weekend, showing anime isn’t going away any time soon.

First place went to Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle with $70M, marking the largest ever international debut, as well as the highest opening ever for an R-rated animated film. Combined with its foreign grosses this weekend, it took in $132M, and stands at $386.29M total so far.
The Conjuring: Last Rites came in second with $26.1M for a new domestic total of $131.05M. It has taken in $201.8M overseas for a global total of $332.85M.
Third place went to Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale with $18.1M. It took in $12.28M in the foreign markets for a global total of $30.38M.
The Long Walk opened in fourth place with $11.5M.
A re-release of Toy Story landed in fifth place with $3.5M.
The wide releases this week are A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Him, In Whose Name, The Senior, and Waltzing With Brando.
