Netflix is turning to murder most foul as it is cooking up a new game show based on the famous Clue board game.
Deadline is reporting that Netflix has ordered up a Clue gameshow – or Cluedo if you are so inclined – that will mix elements of the famous board game with unscripted competition.
The series will follow conestans, and they face various challenges in an attempt to collect clues to solve the who, where, and with what of the murder. Guess correctly and you add money to the prize pot. Guess wrong and you could be sent home. The suspects will include all of the characters you know from the game, such as Col. Mustard, Miss Scarlett, and so on.
“Like so many families and friends over the years, we’ve gathered around the table trying to figure out who did it—making Clue a source of nostalgia that everyone shares,” Jeff Gaspin, VP of Unscripted Series, Netflix, said in a statement. “Thanks to the incredible vision of our partners at Hasbro Entertainment, IPC, and B17, we’re delivering a fresh, imaginative whodunit competition that will invite today’s audiences into that iconic world.”
No word as of yet as to when the series will debut, but we’re sure you’ll hear a scream in the night before it does.
