The box office was down 55% from the same weekend last year, and it doesn’t look as though things will be improving any time soon.

Captain America: Brave New World won a third weekend at the box office with $15M for a new domestic total of $163.69M. It has taken in a further $178.1M overseas for a global total of $341.79M.
Second place went to Last Breath with $7.8M.
The Monkey landed in third place with $6.37M for a new domestic total of $24.61M. It has taken in $3.93M at the foreign box offices for a global total of $28.55M.
Fourth place went to Paddington in Peru with $4.5M for a new domestic total of $31.35M. It has already taken in $133M overseas for a global total of $164.35M.
Dog Man landed in fifth place with $4.2M for a new domestic total of $84.06M. It has taken in $29.07M in foreign markets for a global total of $113.13M.
The wide releases this week are In the Lost Lands, Mickey 17, Night of the Zoopocalypse, Queen of the Ring, and Rule Breakers.
