It’s TV reboot week in Hollywood it would seem. The latest report indicates that Sony is exploring the possibility of rebooting The Facts of Life.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the new version of The Facts of Life is being set up at Sony with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jessica Biel in talks to be executive producers. The talks are said to be in the very early stages, and nothing is settled as of yet.

Beginning life as a spinoff of Diff’rent Strokes, The Facts of Life followed the adventures of Edna Garrett (Charlotte Rae) as she took a job as a house mother at the fictional Eastland School for Girls in Peekskill, New York. The series ended up running for 201 episodes across nine seasons and became a staple of the NBC lineup in the 1980s. It finished its run in 1988, but there was a reunion movie of the original cast in 2001 with the exception of Jo (Nancy McKeon).

This is just the latest reboot news this week alone as word hit of a potential ALF reboot on the small screen and Fantasy Island flying away to the theaters. It is becoming increasingly clear that the reboot craze isn’t going away any time soon. With Norman Lear even discussing more potential reboots, we just have to assume that everything is on the table at this point.
